
Dr.
Forshaw obtained his B.D.S. degree from the University of Sheffield,
England,
in 1973. During his time in private practise in the United Kingdom he
attended various postgraduate courses while studying for the qualification
of M.G.D.S.R.C.S. In 1979, after training in sedation dentistry, he was
elected to membership of the S.A.A.D. (Society for the Advancement of
Anaesthesia in Dentistry). In 1983 the Forshaw family (Barry, Christine
and the three children, Kerry, Tim & Nigel), moved to South Africa.
After practising in central Durban, Dr. Forshaw took over the Dental
practice
in what is now the Hillcrest Medical Centre in 1985. Since moving to
South
Africa, Dr. Forshaw has been a member of the South African Dental Association
and a member of special interest groups in Endodontics, orthodontics,
children's dentistry, and periodontics. For four years he was the secretary
and treasurer of the Natal branch of the Periodontal Society of South
Africa. In 2000 he obtained a P.D.D. (Postgraduate Dental Diploma) in
Clinical Dentistry. In 2002 Dr. Forshaw obtained an Honours degree in
Endodontics, HonsBSc(DentSci), from the University of Stellenbosch. He
is currently working for a Masters degree in Endodontics.
